A story about strings
The curtain rises on a stark hospital room. A patient lies in bed, attached to strings — one to help her breathe, another infusing medicine into her veins. She has become a puppet, responding to commands.
But behind the scenes there is a whole cast pulling other kinds of strings — volunteers, donors, and thousands of women packing Shabbos boxes — changing the scene for cholim, one act of chesed at a time.
It starts with a single mitzvah. Today's mitzvah is tomorrow's string.
